Lucy Skaer and Richard Wright shortlisted for Turner Prize

Two Scottish artists, one known for her intricate drawings, the other for his "thinking man's graffiti", have been shortlisted for the most prestigious, and controversial, award in contemporary art, the Turner Prize.

In a year in which the prize has taken on a noticeably more restrained air, Lucy Skaer (SEA graduate) and Richard Wright, who are both based in Glasgow and trained at the Glasgow School of Art, were yesterday on the final list for the £40,000 prize, £25,000 of which goes to the eventual winner, who will be unveiled in December.
