MLitt in Fine Art Practice at the Glasgow School of Art.

Masters of Letters are the students of the MLitt in Fine Art Practice at the Glasgow School of Art.  MLitt in Fine Art Practice is a 12-month postgraduate programme, in its inaugural year.  The MLitt is a practice-based taught programme, with four specialist pathways in painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.  In this, its first year of running, 20 artists are enrolled.

Amy Dolan, Ziggy Sawdust

Liz West: Shooting stars

More cheerful are Liz West's images. A tutor at Glasgow School of Art once told her that every photographic slide should look "like a jewel" – and hers certainly shine brightly. This is serious colour-blocking: the 27-year-old contrasts different masses of uniformly hued objects in a supermarket to make an aesthetic experience out of a consumerist chore. more

Andy Knowles

Round Town is the debut single from production team The Nice Nice Boys - aka Franz Ferdinand’s Nick McCarthy and Andy Knowles of Johnny Marr and The Healers. Their collaboration with up and coming hip-hop artist Marvellous Macc Mello is an unorthodox mixture of high-end indie pop and uncompromising UK hip hop. Recorded in McCarthy’s Sausage Studios and mixed at Abbey Road the single is released on McCarthy and Knowles’ label Meat Records. more
