Justin Carter works full time in the Department and, among many other responsibilities is third year course co-ordinator. Following graduation from the MFA
programme at Glasgow School of Art, Justin was selected for New
Contemporaries (2000), and also developed work during the inaugural
residency at Cove Park (2000), shown at Tramway, Glasgow. He has been artist in
residence at Tate Liverpool (2001), Grizedale (2002) and Berwick Gymnasium(2004). In 2008 he completed a Bright
Sparks Fellowship Renewable Devicesfor Art and Ecology and was commissioned by Rogaland Kunstsenter to develop
a new public project for ‘Stavanger 2008’.
He is currently working on a collaborative project Wasteland Twinning with a growing number of individuals and organisations around the World. Justin has worked in the Department of Sculpture and Environmental Art since 2003, where his research interests include sustainability, ecology and art.
